Planning your photo shoot

 

Q: How do I book a SnapMyTrip photographer at my holiday destination?

A: SnapMyTrip has a community of talented, fun and creative photographers at holiday destinations across the world. Please select your destination and the category of photoshoot you are looking for. You can browse through the several packages offered by our photographers for that location and category. Feel free to message the photographer(s) through our internal messaging system to check on his/her date and time availability. Submit your booking by clicking on the book now button on the package detail page.

 

Q: How long in advance should I book my shoot?

A: We suggest that you book at least a week in advance, though we will try our best to accommodate last minute requests depending on the availability of your chosen photographer. The ideal time frame is to book atleast 4 weeks in advance to get Your preferred date and time and ensure enough time to plan your shoot with your photographer.

 

Q: What is the SnapMyTrip’s photographic style?

A: SnapMyTrip photographers style is candid and natural. We believe in capturing genuine moments where you can be yourself. But if you are looking for posed portraits or want to try out a specific concept, make sure you discuss with your photographer prior to the photoshoot, so that he/she can best meet your expectations.

 

Q: How much does it cost?

A: We offer a range of price points through the packages offered by the photographers. This ensures we meet our customers varying budget and preferences without compromising on the quality. If you are not able to find a package that suits your budget and preferences, feel free to send a custom offer to the photographer and book when both the parties have agreed on it.

 

Day of the photoshoot

 

Q: What should I wear to the photoshoot?

A: Whatever that makes you feel fabulous! You are on a holiday so feel free to wear that makes you feel the most comfortable.

 

You may want to wear clothes that complement the other people in your photograph, or surroundings. There are no rules on what prints or colors to wear. You can rock yourself in an all black or white outfit or colorful printed skirt/shirt. It’s your own paparazzi time so don’t be shy to stand out!

 

Don a huge floppy hat, red umbrella, printed scarves or hot pink candy floss… you can make your shoot as fun as you want with your creativity. However, a million dollar smile is mandatory to the shoot!

 

Q: Where will I meet my photographer?

A: We have a list of pre-selected spots close to great shoot locations. However, you can discuss with your photographer to meet at your hotel or at certain location of your preference agreed with the photographer prior to the shoot.

 

We will email you clear meeting instructions with the photographer’s contact details to find each other, if necessary. You can always message the photographer through the site.

 

Q: Do I have to pay for the travel fees to get to the shoot location?

A: If your shoot meets the itinerary of the package, then you only need to pay for your own travel expense. However, if you need to cover additional locations, you may have to pay for your photographer travel expense. We suggest you discuss any additional locations with your photographer prior to the shoot. Sometimes, the photographer will also bring their own transport.

 

For locations, that requires entry fee/tickets such as a castle or a carousel, you are responsible to pay for you and the photographer.

 

Note: Shoots more than 20 miles outside city centers may be subject to a small travel fee on the discretion of the photographer

 

 

Q: What if I am running late?

A: Please call/text the photographer’s mobile to let him or her know immediately. Depending on the photographer’s schedule and discretion, you may be able to extend or re-schedule the photo shoot but we cannot guarantee it.

 

If the photographer is unable to extend or reschedule at a time convenient for both the parties, any time that has passed from your original start time will be forfeited, and you may shoot for the remainder of the time you have booked. The number of photos delivered may be adjusted to reflect the actual time spent on the photoshoot.

 

We strongly suggest arriving atleast 10-20 mins early so that you can connect with your photographer over a cuppa/Prosecco and begin your experience in calm and relaxed state. Please add 10 mins to your travel time..it’s easy to be lost in a new city or a quick stop at a souvenir shop  J

 

Q: What happens if it’s raining?

A: We think rains are very romantic so bring your favourite umbrella ! We shoot rain or shine unless it’s raining cats and dogs, please check with the photographer if he/she is available to re-schedule.

 

Q: Can I purchase extra time in the middle of the shoot ?

A: Ofcourse! If you want to extend the shoot and your photographer is available, you can pay the additional charge afterwards online.

 

Q: What if I need to re-schedule or  cancel?

A: We are reasonable folks and we understand that plans change, especially on holidays.

 

If you need to re-schedule, please message the photographer to agree on a new date and time. Please submit a modification through the site for the photographer to accept the new date and time.

More than 48 hours – 90% refund
Less than 48 hours – no refund will be issued (barring an emergency!) 

 

Q: What happens if photographer has to cancel the photo shoot?

A: Although this will rarely happen, in the unlikely event the photographer will propose an alternative day/time or location. If both the parties cannot agree on a new date/time or location, the photographer will have to cancel your photoshoot. We will refund you 100% of your money.

 

 

After the photoshoot

 

Q: When will I see the photos?

A: We will send you a link to your online gallery within 2 weeks

 

Q: What are the size of the photos?

A: We provide  high resolution (330 by 220 px) images that you can download with the online gallery. If you have specific size requirement for a special project, please let the photographer know when you book. Please note that you may have to pay a small fee for extra special photo size requirements.

 

 

Q: Do I own the photos?

A: Yes! They are yours to keep forever for personal use (not commercial). Print them for your holiday/ Christmas card, enlarge them and hang them on the wall or share them on social media. We would like to showcase your photos in our portfolio, but if you are shy, just us let know and we will never post anything publicly. Your photographer will retain the copyright.

 

Q: Can I get all the shots that the photographer took?

A: Unfortunately not. Our photographers can take multiple snaps to get ‘the  perfect shot’. All the photographs shot are in raw format which means the photographer will have to edit hundreds of not so perfect snaps. We provide you the best of the lot excluding all photos with closed eyes or improper lighting.

 

However, if you remember some ‘must have’ shots that didn’t make it to the gallery, let the photographer know and he/she will do their best to get them to you.

 

Q: What type of photo editing will the photographer do?

A: SnapMyTrip photographers typically have a candid style relying on natural outdoor lighting. Photograpgers will provide basic editing, such as cropping and color correctness. Extensive photoshopping is not included.

 

Q: Can I book a SnapMyTrip photographer for a party or commercial event?

A: Please contact us here support@snapmytrip.com with the details of your party or project and your preferred photographer (s). We will then send you more information about the pricing for such packages

 

Q: We really love SnapMyTrip photographer’s style for our holiday…Can I book him/her for my wedding?

A: SnapMyTrip is not set up to offer weddings at the moment. If you really like the photographer’s style, please let us know at support@snapmytrip.com and we will work with the photographers on special request.
